I am  proud to announce the awarding of the coveted international Red Dot Design Award: Product Design 2023 to ‚Giulietta‘, for the design of the iconic electric kettle from Andreas Seegtaz pencil for Casabugatti.

The personal and magnetic design of Giulietta won the positive opinion of an international jury of 43 design professionals. 

The Red Dot Award is one of the most appreciated and prestigious international awards: its format, conceived by Peter Zec, boasts decades of history, and its awarding is a source of pride for all brands that have the honor of receiving it. 

The valuable legacy of Red Dot Award analysis and voting has embraced the Giulietta, which with its spherical, soft and welcoming design manages to provide a user experience in which aesthetic quality and functionality are sublimated. The 2023 edition of the Red Dot Award received more than 20,000 nominations from no less than 60 countries: the best of design came before the eyes of the jurors, who decreed the winners in 51 different categories. Thanks to this award, the Giulietta will be published in the Red Dot Design Yearbook and presented in the ‚Winners‘ section on the official Red Dot website, as well as in related exhibitions. The Giulietta design award will also be announced on 19th June 2023 in Essen, Germany, the city where the award was established. The Giulietta’s winning design is signed by Andreas Seegatz, a professional who has worked with Bugatti for several years. It is an achievement that underlines the worthiness of this synergy. 

‚Unexpected Everyday‘ is the motto of Casa Bugatti: It embodies the constant desire to amaze through extraordinary objects, which are able to illuminate everyday life. These can touch and bring about authentic, unique and absolutely surprising experiences, every day. At the same time, the Red Dot Award for the design of Giulietta was a surprise that was as welcome as unexpected. ‚Winning is the beginning‘, on the other hand, is the slogan of the Red Dot Award: with a path behind It that in 2023 will become a century old, for Casa Bugatti It represents the impetus towards ever more ambitious goals. In this regard, in the coming months Casa Bugatti will present a reference that will create a perfect conceptual match with Giulietta: this will be ‚Romeo‘. Further details will be unveiled shortly, but the name aims to celebrate the Italian style that not only wins the hearts of design critics today, but also inspired the greatest storytellers of all time in the past.

The Product Giulietta is an iconic electric kettle that combines design and functionality: in the domestic environment it stands out in all its unmistakable beauty, while at the same time guaranteeing practicality of use. It fits best both in the kitchen and in the living area, thanks to its soft lines, dedicated to the absolute perfection of the spherical shape. This geometric peculiarity is enhanced by the material with which Giulietta is made: 18/10 stainless steel, which highlights the manufacturing skill of Casa Bugatti. Style, without ever forgetting practicality of use: a single touch is enough to start heating the water to boiling point, at which point Giulietta automatically stops. Giulietta’s small portholes take the shape of the sphere and at the same time indicate the water level, lighting up with an LED, when the kettle is in operation. The 360° degrees base blends perfectly with the shape of the kettle as a whole, creating an overall sense of harmony. The spout fits seamlessly into the spherical body and also performs the function of a filling nozzle, making the classic lid superfluous and allowing the unity and simplicity of the body to remain firmly anchored in the kettle archetype. The water filter integrated in the spout lid is removable and also easy to wash. Giulietta is available in polished stainless steel, matt black, gold, rose gold, white and red color variants to suit everyone’s taste and style.

Il Red Dot Award è uno dei riconoscimenti più apprezzati e prestigiosi a livello internazionale: il suo format, ideato da Peter Zec, vanta decenni di storia, e la sua assegnazione è motivo d’orgoglio per tutti i marchi che hanno l’onore di riceverlo. 

Il prezioso retaggio di analisi e votazioni di Red Dot Award ha abbracciato Giulietta, che con il suo design sferico, morbido e accogliente, riesce a fornire un’esperienza d’uso in cui si sublimano qualità estetica e funzionalità. All’edizione 2023 del Red Dot Award sono arrivate oltre 20mila candidature da ben 60 Paesi: il meglio del design è approdato sotto gli occhi dei giurati, che hanno decretato i vincitori di 51 categorie diverse. Grazie a questo premio, Giulietta sarà pubblicato nel Red Dot Design Yearbook e presentato nella sezione “Vincitori” sul sito web ufficiale di Red Dot, nonché nelle mostre collegate. Il riconoscimento al design di Giulietta verrà inoltre annunciato il prossimo 19 giugno 2023 in Germania, a Essen, città dove il premio è stato istituito. Si tratta di un traguardo che corrobora la proficuità di questa sinergia.

Al tempo stesso, il Red Dot Award al design di Giulietta è stata una sorpresa tanto gradita, quanto inaspettata. “Vincere è l’inizio” è invece lo slogan del Red Dot Award: con un percorso alle spalle che proprio nel 2023 diventa secolare, per Casa Bugatti rappresenta lo slancio verso traguardi sempre più ambiziosi. A tal proposito, nei mesi a venire Casa Bugatti presenterà un nuovo prodotto che creerà un connubio concettuale perfetto con Giulietta: sarà “Romeo”. Maggiori dettagli verranno svelati prossimamente, ma il nome punta a celebrare lo stile italiano che non solo riesce a conquistare il cuore dei critici del design, oggi, ma che in passato ha saputo ispirare anche i più grandi narratori di sempre. 

Il Prodotto Giulietta è un iconico bollitore elettrico che abbina design a funzionalità: nell’ambiente domestico spicca in tutta la sua inconfondibile bellezza, garantendo al tempo stesso praticità d’uso. Si colloca al meglio sia in cucina che nella zona living, grazie alle sue linee morbide, dedicate alla perfezione assoluta della forma sferica. Questa peculiarità geometrica è impreziosita dal materiale con cui Giulietta è realizzato: acciaio inox 18/10, che mette in risalto l’abilità produttiva di Casa Bugatti. Stile, senza dimenticare mai la praticità d’uso: un solo tocco è sufficiente ad avviare il riscaldamento dell’acqua fino al punto di ebollizione, momento in cui Giulietta si arresta automaticamente. I piccoli oblò di Giulietta riprendono la forma della sfera e al tempo stesso indicano il livello dell’acqua, illuminandosi con un led, quando il bollitore è in funzione. La base girevole a 360 gradi si integra perfettamente con la forma del bollitore nel suo complesso, creando un senso generale di armonia. Il beccuccio si inserisce senza soluzione di continuità nel corpo sferico e svolge anche la funzione di bocchettone di riempimento, rendendo superfluo il classico coperchio e permettendo così di mantenere l’unità e la semplicità del corpo, saldamente ancorato all’archetipo di bollitore. Il filtro dell’acqua integrato nel coperchio del beccuccio è rimovibile e anche facile da lavare. Giulietta è disponibile nelle varianti cromatiche acciaio inox lucido, nero opaco, oro, oro rosa, bianco e rosso, che si adattano ai diversi gusti e stili di ciascuno.
